On August 14 a new Fresh Co opened its doors to a community that has long sought greater retail convenience. The grand opening of FreshCo at 1910 Kensington Road NW marks a significant addition to Calgary’s northwest neighbourhood, bringing a fresh discount-grocery concept directly into the heart of Kensington.
Kensington, known for its quirky boutiques, cafés, and dense residential pockets, has been underserved by larger grocers for some time. By situating a discount-oriented grocery store right in the neighbourhood, FreshCo hopes to lower the barrier to access for daily essentials.
We just had to see it, so we sent three local agents to give us a virtual tour. We also asked them to give us their view as a local on this new location and what they really liked (or disliked). Our tour takes you right to the shopper as they explore. See all the photos below!
